NEW YORK — Sean “Diddy” Combs is trying to trade a prison jumpsuit for poolside views in Miami. The 55-year-old rap mogul, who’s been locked up since September, has launched a bold bid for freedom — dangling a jaw-dropping $50 million bail package in hopes of securing house arrest until his sentencing in October.

Diddy’s legal team filed a motion in New York this week, arguing their client poses no threat to the public and isn’t likely to flee. Their plan? Post a mega bail and park the hip-hop heavyweight under strict house arrest at his waterfront mansion in Miami, leaving only for court appearances.

But the judge might not be swayed. Previous attempts to spring the Bad Boy founder from jail have hit a wall, and this latest bid is shaping up to be another legal long shot.

Combs was found partially guilty earlier this month after a months-long trial that gripped headlines. Jurors cleared him of the most severe charges — including human trafficking and organized crime — but convicted him of promoting prostitution, a felony that still carries serious time.

The verdict caps a scandal-laden saga packed with lurid testimony and explosive allegations. Prosecutors painted a dark portrait of Combs as the orchestrator of a decades-long web of sex, drugs, intimidation, and hush money. Witnesses described being lured into twisted “freak-off” parties, where drugs and coercion allegedly flowed as freely as champagne.

While the jury found insufficient evidence to convict on the most damning charges, Diddy still faces up to 20 years when he’s sentenced on October 3 — a far cry from his once-platinum lifestyle.
