Indio Earns Prohousing Honor from State of California
INDIO, CA — The City of Indio has been awarded the prestigious Prohousing Designation by the California Department of Housing and Community Development, making it the first city in the Coachella Valley and only the third in Riverside County to receive the honor.
The designation recognizes Indio’s commitment to expanding housing opportunities and provides priority access to state programs and funding. “This recognition is a testament to Indio’s commitment in tackling the housing challenges,” said Mayor Glenn Miller. “With this designation, Indio can pursue greater opportunities to bring resources, funding, and partnerships into our community.”
The achievement comes as Indio was also named one of the Top 25 Most Livable Small Cities in the Nation, highlighting the city’s dedication to housing affordability, sustainability, and a thriving future for all residents.
