Pride on the Page Celebrates Five Years

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. — The Palm Springs Public Library Foundation has announced that the Fifth Annual Pride on the Page Book Festival will take place Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Palm Springs Cultural Center. For the first time, the entire festival—including an evening reception with featured authors and special guests—will be free.

Created in 2022, Pride on the Page has become one of the Coachella Valley’s premier literary events, bringing LGBTQ+ authors, readers and allies together for thoughtful conversations, diverse perspectives and community connection. The fifth-anniversary theme, “Five Years of Pride on the Page: Our Lives, Our Words, Our Stories,” will highlight memoirs and personal narratives reflecting the many voices and experiences within the LGBTQ+ community.

“This festival is about creating a welcoming space where people can discover great books, hear remarkable stories and connect through conversations,” said Julie Warren, co-creator of Pride on the Page and library services and public relations manager for the Palm Springs Public Library.

Since its inception, the festival has featured more than 150 LGBTQ+ and affirming authors and moderators. The 2026 program will continue that tradition with nationally recognized authors, local writers, publishers and community organizations.

The first confirmed authors include Murray Hill, author of “Showbiz! My Life as a Middle-Aged Man”; Phill Branch, author of “The Double Dutch Fuss”; and Sandra Butler, author of “Now What? From the Frontline of Old Age.” Butler will appear in conversation with Daniel Jaffe, author of “Russian Silhouette: A Memoir of Activism and Identity.”

Throughout the day, attendees can participate in author conversations and book signings and visit an outdoor festival tent featuring local authors, independent publishers, vendors and nonprofit organizations. A limited number of books by each featured author will be given to attendees during presentations, while supplies last.

The evening program will feature special guests and a reception celebrating the anniversary. Books by featured authors and moderators will also be available for purchase, with authors available for autographs.

Confirmed sponsors include the City of Palm Springs, Palm Springs Cultural Center, Best Bookstore in Palm Springs, Saguaro Hotel, LGBTQ Community Center of the Desert, Stacked Deck Press, Rattling Good Yarns and Sibling Rivalry Press.
